In our opinion, the best stomach toning exercise that a beginner can do to to strengthen and tone their abs, are Tuck Up's. The reason why they are so effective is because of their "intensity" and their "explosiveness". Tuck up's can be a little tricky to master... But once you have found the rhythm, you'll be well on your way.

If you do these exercises frequently, You'll develop a sexy and toned core that will make heads turn!

Tuck Up's

Tuck Up's are such a fantastic beginners stomach toning exercise. Shaye has used them as one of her primary stomach toning exercises since she was a little girl doing gymnastics at the age of 10.

We would recommend that you do as many of these as you can. Make it burn... the more intense the better! Try work your way up to 4 sets of 20... Once you can do that without too much of a problem, it's time to move onto the intermediate tummy toning exercise! Aim at doing these exercises 4+ times per week.

  1. Get into a "dish" position, as in picture one.
  2. In a quick "snappy" movement, tuck your legs up, as in picture two.
  3. Hold for about 1 second.
  4. Leading with your toes, kick out, back into the "dish" position.
  5. Hold for about 1 second and then repeat.
  6. And repeat again...
  7. Do them till it burns!

If you're really focused on getting quick results, you should try to push up the intensity levels of your training... This will help to burn fat and build muscle! You could also add in a bit of cardio training to your workout... Because as we all know, cardio is a great fat burner! If you hate cardio because you think it is long and boring... Try to do short bursts of cardio 3 - 4 times a week. It only needs to last for 10-20 minutes, but really push yourself to the limits in terms of intensity. Do this and you'll see results!
