Portion control works

I put on tons of weight when I was pregnant with my second child, after not having lost much of the pregnancy weight from my first child two years before.
Several months after the birth I was thrilled with my little bundle of joy, but very depressed about the body I was left with. Something had to be done. But what, when you are looking after a toddler and a baby, running a household and working part time too?
One of the things that was easily within my grasp was to manage the size of my meals. I needed to ensure that I was still getting the right nutritional balance so that both I and my breast-fed baby stayed healthy, but found that simply giving myself about two thirds as much as I gave my husband.
We eat home-cooked food, with plenty of organic vegetables and very little saturated fat (which has helped lower my husband's high cholesterol too), but still have tasty meals and a varied menu.
I still need to tone up quite a bit around the midriff but have lost about 20 lb and two dress sizes so far. I'd like to lose another 10 lb, but I think I've made a good start.
