Exercises for toning abdominal muscles were hot on my coach's (Mrs. Stewart) agenda...

We had just returned from the Springboard Diving World Junior Championships in Calgary... We did well - but it was obvious that we weren't as 'in-shape' as some of the other competitors.

Especially Tania Cognotto from Italy...

She won the event and her toned and sculpted body was burnt into Mrs. Stewart's mind...

Mrs. Stewart was on a mission...

The next time we entered an international event - we would be right up there with the fittest, strongest and sexiest divers!

 

We arrived home from Calgary and right away were given our daily dose of conditioning. In it were the exercises Mrs. Stewart had learned for toning abdominal muscles.

Did they work?

You bet ya! Our team went from a bunch of scrawny amateurs to toned and sculpted athletes.

The next international event we went to was in South Africa...

Everyone there commented on our toned abs and athletic physiques...

We were all SO happy... Especially because we were getting more attention from the male divers!

 

MY favorite Exercise For Toning Abdominal Muscles...

The exercises Mrs. Stewart learnt were so effective that they're even taught in TOP programs like the Truth About Abs.

They worked for me... That's for sure.

Here's my favorite one...

 

Pike Up's

Pike Up's are one of the best ab exercises of all time... 10 years on and I still do them to keep in shape.

Try work your way up to 20 repetitions.

  1. Get into a dish position, as shown in picture one.
  2. In a snappy movement, raise your legs and arms simultaneously and touch them at the top.
  3. In a quick, but controlled movement, lower back down to the start position.
  4. Repeat.

WARNING: Who These Exercises Won't Work For...

Exercises such as pike ups are guaranteed to build and tone your abdominal muscles...

You will notice the results very quickly if you have no abdominal fat.

HOWEVER, if you do have a bit of a belly fat - then your newly toned ab muscles will be hiding beneath it... Out of sight!
